Here are just three of many gratifying reviews.

‘Jetstream’ is the most inspiring suite of music I have heard in an age. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that JET collective are the most consummate group of musicians you are ever likely to hear.

Bill Allerton

“This music by the Jet Collective deserves to be played in major concert halls anywhere in the world. The composition and performance was of the highest standard (world class?) and deserves to be widely heard.”

Geoff Dalton

Sue Walker: “Just listened to the recordings and they are brilliant. This is interesting and beautifully crafted music”

To launch the album we are going to perform JetStream in concert:

Saturday 16th May, Green Man Gallery, Buxton.  Hardwick Hall, Hardwick Square South, Buxton, SK17 6PY. Tickets from Tel: 01298 937375.  hello@thegreenmangallery.com

Watch the ‘Heat’ music video from ‘JETStream’

‘Heat’ is the first music video from the new JET Collective double album ‘JetStream’

(or hit this link http://youtu.be/YNaXyGcHER8)

‘Heat’ began life as an idea in 2004, and was then redeveloped for this project. The music takes influence from African and equatorial music and rhythms, with the strident marimbas, the guitar and higher bass parts imitating mosquitos, creating an intense rhythmic feel punctuated by short pauses.

‘JetStream’ is the new double album from the JET Collective, due to be released in December 2014 on JETWorks Records. The suite of material draws inspiration from the weather and climate in its broadest sense, with material based on the science of weather, solar radiation, poetry, seasonal conditions, climate exploration and the way we feel about the weather.

Thanks to Ian Dearman for shooting and editing the video.
Thanks to the Old Library Studios in Mansfield – we recorded the album there during this year, and shot the video in the theatre space in August.

Written by Paul Biggins.

Simon Beckett – Percussion, Bongos
Paul Biggins – Spanish Guitar, High Keys Marimbas
Karen Clegg – Med & Low Keys Marimbas, Synth Strings
Reg Clegg – Electric Bass
Clive Loveday – Drums
Steve Salfield – Tenor Sax

JET Collective recording of ‘JetStream’ close to completion; set for October release

The JET Collective went into the Old Library Studios in Mansfield earlier this year to record the 16 tracks that make up the new ‘JetStream’ suite. The material is sounding terrific – just a few final percussion overdubs to complete before the final mixing and mastering, and preparation ready for an October 2014 release.

Ahead of that, the ensemble head to the Old Library Theatre on 9th August to shoot the first promotional video, of the track ‘Heat’, with videographer Ian Dearman.
